Autumn Pub of the Season 2006
The Industry - Newbold

Pauline & Stewart Lawson have been at The Industry since May 2005, after moving from their previous pub in Connisborough.  Following 22 years in the army Stewart entered the licensed trade only two years ago.

Since arriving at The Industry they have steadily built up their range of Real Ales.  They now stock two ever changing ales, including ones from local breweries, as well as regular appearances from London Pride and Abbot Ale.

The Industry is an excellent example of a community pub, featuring weekly Wednesday general knowledge quizzes and an acoustic Jam Night every Thursday.  The pub is also a supporter of CAMRA campaigns ~ they took part in Mild Month in May, are featuring in the upcoming October Cider Campaign and are also a stockist of InnSpire.

The team at The Industry are also keen to feature beers from local micro-breweries.  Thornbridge Hall ales often appear on the bar, and they are one of the only regular outlets for the new Spire Brewery beers.

Pictured are licensees Pauline and Stewart Lawson receiving the award for Autumn Pub of the Season from Branch Chairman Rhoda Waygood.
